What I eat during day-long meeting

Very recently I had to hold a launch event for a project which I was managing & I didn’t plan what to eat.

It was a very big deal & I was accountable for even the smallest thing.

Since it was a day-long event I couldn’t have either breakfast or lunch.

Consequently, my body became weak & I started to feel nausea.

I know this is the case for many people around us. Whenever some important task comes, the first thing a desk job holder does is skipping meals, which is the worst mistake we can make.

There are many reasons for which we should not skip meal in a important day;

Steady Energy Levels: Skipping meals steals your body of important nutrients and energy, making you tired and less productive.

Poor Concentration: If you don’t eat well, you won’t be able to focus and make smart choices during important events or meetings.

Increased Stress: Being hungry or having low blood sugar can make your body react to stress in ways that make it harder to handle stress well.

Physical discomfort: Skipping meals can make you feel bad physically, like with headaches, dizziness, and stomach cramps, which can make it harder to concentrate and do well.

Effects Bad on Health: Skipping meals on a regular basis can mess up your metabolism, leave you lacking nutrients, and raise your risk of getting long-term health problems.

But I know this problem will pertain since I used to suffer from this as well.

Good news is, there are few tricks to find what to eat, which I follow to avoid skipping foods;

Prepare ahead of time: Either make healthy snacks and meals the night before or buy options that are easy to take with you.

Stay hydrated: Drink a lot of water or plant teas throughout the day to keep your energy up and stop feeling hungry.

Smart Snacks: Snack on healthy foods like nuts, seeds, fruits, yogurt, or whole grain bread to stay full and energized.

Take Short Breaks: Whenever you can, stretch and eat a healthy snack or meal during short breaks to keep your energy up.

Stay away from sugary and caffeinated foods: They may seem like a quick way to get more energy, but they can make you feel even more tired and hungry later on.

So, you don’t need to skip meal on a day-long meeting as a matter of fact you even get your diet better from above practice & you’ll get several benefits if you follow these;

Continuous Energy: Eating well-balanced meals and snacks throughout the day gives you a steady supply of energy that helps you stay awake and focused.

Better Concentration: Eating right helps your brain work well, which makes it easier to focus, solve problems, and make smart choices.

Better mood: Eating well-balanced meals and snacks can help keep your blood sugar levels steady, which can help you feel less irritable and stressed.

Optimal Performance: Eating the right foods helps your body and mind work at their best, so you can do your best at your duties.

Overall Well-Being: Putting nutrition first will not only help your success right away, but it will also help your health and well-being in the long run.

I understood that there are many tricks to save ourselves from a hectic day, but we need to keep in mind few things;

Self care: Do something nice for yourself every day by making time for what to eat and snacks, even on days when you’re busy.

Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to your body’s signs that it’s hungry and make it a priority to feed it healthy meals and snacks to keep your energy up.

Ask for help: Tell your coworkers or team members what to eat, and push for a mindset at work that puts health and well-being first.

Mindfulness: Stop, breathe, and check in with yourself several times a day to make sure you’re meeting your body’s needs and staying balanced.

Remember, we work to live a good life & a good life is only possible with a healthy body. Can you imagine a successful life in a hospital bed? You can’t.

So while you skip your meal for the sake of a big day, just remember that nothing can be more important than yourself. Plan ahead what to  eat.
